Happy Chinese New Year
Last week I set about looking for a supplier of painting brushes from Chinese factories. Their reps are always so eager and hard working that you’ll get an immediate reply and then realise it must be midnight over there. But last week I was completely ignored for days – why? because they were nursing their Chinese New Year’s Hangovers. The Chinese New Year started last Sunday and this year it’s the Year of The Rabbit, just like 1963,1975,1987 and 1999. Born in a rabbit year means you are quiet, elegant, kind and responsible, so not much use at robbing a bank! The Chinese also take very seriously your zodiac compatibility with a marriage partner, it will get raised at the wedding ceremony. As a rooster I’m compatible with Snakes Dragons and Oxen! But for the next 12 months the rabbit has more significance than usual, I wonder if a Chinese Traditionalist would approve of Mary Rose’s rabbit? It’s not heroic or iconic, more laconic with a hint of bored patience of tolerating the world just for now…this little Bunny is sitting upon an Easter Egg, and can be found on our website by clicking HERE
